This is a personal portfolio site. It has one form on it, and this page explains exactly what that form does with what you type into it. There is no account system, no newsletter, and no advertising.

What the contact form collects

When you submit the contact form, it sends four things: your name, your email address, your message, and whether you ticked the box asking for a print-friendly resume. Nothing else is collected, and the form is the only place on this site where you can enter personal information.

Where it goes

Your submission is relayed straight to my email inbox through Amazon Simple Email Service, in Amazon's Sydney region (ap-southeast-2), so it stays in Australia. You also receive an automatic acknowledgement at the address you provided.

It is not stored in a database. The service that receives the form holds your details only for as long as it takes to send those two emails, and keeps no record of them afterwards. The only lasting copy is the email in my inbox.

How long it is kept

Enquiry emails stay in my mailbox for up to 24 months and are then deleted. If you would like your enquiry deleted sooner, email me at joshinechar@gmail.com and I will remove it and confirm that I have.

Google reCAPTCHA

The form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA v3, which is what stops the enquiry endpoint being used as a spam relay. reCAPTCHA collects device and interaction signals and sets cookies in your browser, and that information goes to Google. Its handling is governed by Google's privacy policy and terms of service.

reCAPTCHA is deliberately not loaded when the page opens. It is fetched only once you scroll near the contact section, so if you read the site and never go looking for the form, nothing is sent to Google and no reCAPTCHA cookies are set.

Analytics and tracking

There are none. This site runs no analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixels and no session recording, and it sets no cookies of its own. I cannot see who visits, where they came from, or what they read.

Hosting

The site is served from an asset canister on the Internet Computer. Its network gateway sets a cookie named ic_env, which holds the network's public key and the site's canister identifiers. That is public infrastructure information, not anything about you, and it is set by the platform rather than by this site.

Your rights and how to reach me

You can ask me what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, at any time, at joshinechar@gmail.com. This site is operated by me personally, in Sydney, Australia, and I aim to handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
